Skills and Development

This category of tools includes tools for planning and managing training investment. Typically there are different needs at each organisational level. At a the level of an employing unit the objective is managing the identification of individuals' development needs and scheduling training and development activity to meet this.

At a regional or national levelt the issue is one of identifying and commissioning future training provision to ensure these needs can be met. There are two aspects to this, one is determining the level of future support for existing courses and the other is identifying the need to develop new training.

At a national level there may also be regulatory and validation issues around new training provision.
