6 Implementation and Review

No plan can remain unchanged. Assumptions may prove not to have been valid or unforeseen factors may throw the plan off course. It is important for any planning process to have a built in mechanism for adjusting the action plan to ensure that it is kept on course to achieve its goals. This is likely to require the following:

  • Implementation: What needs to happen to ensure that the plan is implemented?

  • Measuring Progress: Are we making progress towards the goals.

  • Course Corrections: If not, what actions are needed to stay on course?

  • Reviewing the Plan: Are the assumptions made in each of the steps still valid and if not how does the plan need to be reworked?
